THE BLUE CUBE
The Blue Cube proposes a new Performing Arts Center located in a former television production facility on the Hudson River waterfront 6 miles north of Manhattan.
As a grass-roots community-level initiative, the Cube will offer a new cultural amenity in a neighborhood in short supply of public event space and waterfront access. This new proposal anticipates the execution of the Alexander Street development and particularly the current transformation of the Glenwood Power Plant into new housing, conference center and hotel.
The project envisions an adjacent landscaped park, amphitheater and kayak launch to the North, connecting the public directly to the water, and linking the Cube with the Glenwood Power Plant and the Metro North train station, located 1/4 mile upriver.
